Elana Elkins, age 59, of Peebles, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 28, 2025. She was born on June 11, 1966, in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late John H. Thacker and Lovena Joan (Bradford) Thacker.

Elana was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Michael Thacker; and a sister, Johnna L. Thacker.

Elana was a woman of great warmth, kindness, and strength. A lifelong believer, she was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Manchester and attended Grace Fellowship in Peebles, where her faith continued to be a guiding light in her life.

Elana had a passion for traveling and looked forward to her summer adventures with family and friends, a special love for all things Disney, often finding joy in the magic and memories those adventures brought. But more than anything else, her heart belonged to her family. She especially treasured every moment spent caring for her beloved granddaughter Talashia, who was the light of her life.

Elana’s gentle spirit, nurturing heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Elana is survived by her granddaughter, Talashia Elkins of Peebles; son, William (Chasity) Elkins of Lucasville; grandchildren Dawson, Kaedyn and Skilen; stepson, Harrison (Chasity) Baldwin of Peebles; step- grandchildren, Hunter, Madison, Hailey, and Mason; two sisters, Bryanna Thacker of Georgetown, Kentucky; Cheria (Ginger Bayless) Thacker of West Union, Ohio; special nieces, Jayla (Zach) Chamblin of West Union and Amber (Tony Hood) Murray if Peebles; special friends, Peggy and Sarah Niswander and Malana Devore, all of Peebles; ex-husband, Glenn Elkins of Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of her life will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family.
