At approximately 9:08 a.m. today, July 1, 2025, Adams County deputies and emergency personnel responded to a 911 call reporting an unresponsive 2-year-old at Timber Ridge Apartment Complex. Sadly, the child was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to a press release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Two individuals—25-year-old Brian Moser (aka Terry Smith III) and 23-year-old Tien Hawkins—have been arrested and are currently being held at the Adams County Jail on charges of child endangerment.

Adams County Sheriff Kenny Dick clarified, to the People’s Defender, that the current charges against Hawkins and Moser(Smith) are unrelated to the child’s death. But, the investigation is ongoing.

The child’s body was transported to Montgomery County for an autopsy. The cause of death remains undetermined and is under active investigation by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and the Adams County Prosecutor’s Office.
