If you enjoy listening to stories, be sure to check out our ACPL Storytellers Facebook event. This event features audio recordings of classic fables, fairy tales, and folklore read by select members of our staff and is targeted toward tweens and teens but is appropriate for all ages. You can listen to “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Sword in the Stone,” “The Twelve Dancing Princesses,” and many more. New recordings are posted every Wednesday at 5 p.m., so subscribe to this event to never miss a story!
If you don’t have access to the internet, you can still listen to stories by tuning in to C103 Country radio every weekday at 9:50 a.m. for the Radio Readers program. In this program, you’ll listen to classic children’s and adult literature and poetry read by staff members of the Adams County Public Library, the Brown County Public Library, and the Union Township Public Library. There are new stories and poems each day, so be sure to tune in, sit back, and relax as we share with you these literary works. This program is sponsored by Willey & Son Trucking.
Don’t forget to sign up for our 2020 Summer Reading Program “Imagine Your Story,” going on now until Aug. 15. This year you’ll sign up, log your reading and activities, and track your progress all online using the Beanstack app and website. To win a completion prize, the reading goals for each age group are Kids (Ages 0-9) = 10 hours; Teens (Ages 10-17) = 16 hours; and Adults (Ages 18+) = 20 hours.
