In an organizational meeting held earlier this month, the Adams County Agricultural Society selected Terri Davis to serve as Adams County Fair Board President for the 2019-2020 term. The position was previously filled by Liz Lafferty, who served four consecutive terms.
In response to her selection, Davis says that she is honored and excited to take on the role, and will be working to raise funds for the fair next year. She has been a member of the Fair Board of Directors for four years, and she has been involved with the fair since her early childhood. She began to show cattle with 4-H at age eight, and went on to join the Junior and Senior Fair Boards.
Davis currently works as Acting County Executive Director of the Adams County Farm Service Agency, and is an advisor in 4-H. She enjoys watching her young grandchildren show pigs in the open show. She says that she learned much from Liz Lafferty, the previous Fair Board President, and will continue her work in making the Adams County Fair bigger and better each year.
“I am thrilled to have Terri Davis be the new Fair Board President,” said Lafferty. “We have been such a great team over the last four years, and we have so much more work to be done. Terri is connected to our Agricultural Community and all of the Commodity Organizations. Truly blessed that she is taking on this office.”
In the same meeting, Brian Miley was appointed to the open Meigs Township seat, Bob Minton took the Franklin Township seat, Jason Hupp took the Manchester seat, Brock Pistole took the Oliver Township seat, and Eric McCann took the Monroe Township seat on the Adams County Fair Board of Directors.
Currently, Liz Lafferty, Matt Gray, Jeff Roades, Doug Gunter, Jon Paul Kennedy, Brian Dugan, Leanne Liston, Nick Shreffler, Amanda Smart, McKayla Smith, Susan May, Dustin Cox, Joseph Wright, Richard Lewis, and Jason M. Francis are also Directors.
Jason Hesler is the current Vice President, and Tonya Kersey is the Secretary.
The 129th Adams County Fair will be held July 12-18 next year.
