We had a great time celebrating local talent at the Peebles Library during our Local Author Meet and Greet on Saturday, June 14. Guests had the opportunity to connect with local authors, hear about their writing journeys, ask questions, and discover new books. A special thank you to the Peebles Library Magazine Club, who organized and hosted this wonderful event, and to our featured authors: Saundra Crum Akers, Donna Whitaker, Coley June, Sean Green, JD Laubach, Levi Pertuset and Aaron Pertuset.

Get ready for a week of fun and community spirit at the Adams County Fair starting July 6! Stop by the Adams County Public Library’s booth located in the Merchant Hall throughout the week to enjoy games, win prizes, and hear great stories. We’ll be there all week celebrating with you, but please note that library programs will be on pause during fair week so we can join the fun alongside you.
Once the fair wraps up, your library experience will shift back into full swing with an exciting lineup of programs for all ages. If you are looking to add a fun activity to your schedule, we’ve got you covered! We have hands-on crafts, creative challenges, and Storytime favorites. From building with K’NEX to experimenting with bubble art and exploring creativity through upcycled crafts, you’ll find plenty of ways to stay engaged.
Families with young children won’t want to miss our themed Storytimes during the week of July 14. At the North Adams Library, enjoy Art with Nature Storytime on Tuesday, July 15 at 11 a.m. This program invites little ones to explore the outdoors through books and artistic expression. On Wednesday, July 16, choose from two creative options: Creating Art Storytime at the Peebles Library at 11 a.m. or Crayons Storytime at the Manchester Library at the same time. Can’t make it in the morning? Crayons Storytime will repeat at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 17 at the Manchester Library. That morning, on Thursday, July 17, you can also attend Express Yourself Storytime at 11 a.m. to round out your week of reading and imagination.
Looking for a building challenge? Visit the Peebles Library on Monday, July 14, from 1 – 3 p.m. for an exciting K’NEX and LEGO session. Kids ages 6 to 11 are encouraged to drop in and construct imaginative structures using our collection of parts. Though you’ll leave your creation behind, you’re welcome to take a photo to remember your hard work.
On Wednesday, July 16, come to the Manchester Library at 3 p.m. for Bad Art, a celebration of creativity without the pressure to be perfect. Let your imagination lead the way with our provided materials, and don’t worry about how it turns out. This laid-back, laughter-filled art session is all about the experience, not the outcome.
If messy fun is more your style, stop by the West Union Library on Thursday, July 17 at 3 p.m. for Bubble Art during our Crafternoon program. Experiment with color and bubbles to create unique creations while enjoying a playful and artistic atmosphere.
For adults looking to unwind and create something beautiful, head to the North Adams Library on Friday, July 18 at 1 p.m. to design a glamorous wind chime using beads and upcycled jewelry. This hands-on craft session is a perfect way to relax and get inspired. Plus, you can explore our crafting books to keep the creativity going at home.
Don’t forget, you also have access to practical tools through the library, like Nuwav Legal Documents. With your library card, you can create legal forms online anytime you need them. From wills to leases, this free service provides step-by-step guidance and simple templates to help you handle important tasks with confidence. No printer? Come to the library for convenient and fast printing that won’t break the bank.
