You’re invited to a week bursting with creativity, color, and imagination at the Adams County Public Library! Check out our calendar for engaging Storytimes for your little ones, artistic challenges for your teens, or a relaxing moment to create something beautiful for yourself. Come celebrate stories and art with us in a variety of hands-on, inspiring programs designed to bring out the artist in you.
Start your week with a sparkle at Jewelry Art Storytime at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 22, at the North Adams Library. On Wednesday, July 23, bring your young builders to the Art of Building Storytime at 11 a.m. at the Peebles Library. Cool off with Ice Cream Storytime at the Manchester Library on both Wednesday and Thursday, July 23 and 24, at 11 a.m. If your child loves to paint, head over to Painting Storytime at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 24, at the West Union Library. At the end of each Storytime, take home an Enrichment Kit to continue the rich learning experience at home.
Teens looking to make a splash with art can visit the Peebles Library on Tuesday, July 22, from 1 to 2 p.m. for an abstract art session. You’ll be using sponges, brushes, and splatter techniques to create expressive masterpieces. Wear old clothes, and don’t worry, we’ll have trash bag ponchos ready.
For kids ages 6 to 11, the North Adams Library is the place to be on Wednesday, July 23, for an open art workshop. Drop in anytime throughout the day to experiment with a wide selection of art supplies. Spend this summer day creating whatever your imagination inspires.
Then, on Thursday, July 24, teens are invited to try their hand at duct tape art from 1 to 3 p.m. at the North Adams Library. From wallets to gear, this workshop is all about turning simple tape into something surprisingly cool.
Wrap up Thursday evening with a relaxing session at the Peebles Library from 5 to 7 p.m. Join local artist Mae for a mini canvas painting event open to all ages. Whether you’re brand-new to painting or just want to wind down with a brush in hand, you’ll leave with a piece you’re proud of.
Crafters ages 6 to 11 can join us at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, at the West Union Library for Perler Bead Crafternoon. Have a blast creating colorful designs with these fuse-together beads; no experience required!
Adults can get in on the fun, too, during our DIY Mason Jar Crafts at the North Adams Library on Saturday, July 26, from 1 to 2 p.m. Make beautiful candle holders or containers that you’ll be proud to take home or give as gifts.
Finally, bring the whole family to Paint-tastic Fun on Saturday, July 26, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Manchester Library. Try Painting with Nature or enjoy the squishy sensation of color mixing. All ages are welcome, and all supplies are provided.
No matter your age or skill level, our calendar is packed with opportunities to sing, build, paint, and play. Let your imagination lead the way and join us at your local library to make memories and masterpieces you’ll never forget. Visit adamscolibrary.org for more library news.
