Make the most of the final days of summer break at your local library! Dive into hands-on art experiences, family game time, and exciting celebrations. These upcoming events offer a perfect mix of creativity, community, and summer fun to wrap up the season and get ready for the school year ahead.

Bring your little ones to a themed Storytime for a morning full of imagination and art. At the North Adams Library, Paint Storytime will take place at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 29, where you can enjoy a fun story followed by a colorful art activity. On Wednesday, July 30, at 11 a.m., head to the Peebles Library for Express Yourself Storytime and explore how stories and emotions can be shared through creative expression. If butterflies fascinate you, don’t miss Butterflies Storytime at the Manchester Library, offered on both Wednesday, July 30, and Thursday, July 31, at 11 a.m. Finally, the West Union Library will host Art Storytime at 11 a.m., on Thursday, July 31, where kids can let their imaginations run wild through stories and art.

On Wednesday, July 30, the Manchester Library will also host Family Game Day at 3 p.m. This is a great opportunity to enjoy some screen-free time with your family or friends. Whether you prefer classic board games or want to try something new, you’ll find plenty of options to keep everyone engaged and entertained.

Celebrate all the reading you’ve done this summer with our special Summer Reading Finale events. The Manchester Library will kick things off on Friday, August 1, at 1 p.m., with a troll-themed celebration. Enjoy a family-friendly movie, make colorful troll masks, and take part in activities that will keep the fun going until the very end. On Saturday, August 2, at 11 a.m., head to the Peebles Library for the sweetest celebration of all. Create your own masterpiece at the Build Your Own Sundae Bar, complete with a full lineup of toppings for every taste. Later that day, from 1 to 3 p.m., the West Union Library will wrap up the season with a final movie event for all ages. Sit back, relax, and enjoy an animated film with free popcorn on the side.

As summer break winds down, it’s time to start thinking about the back-to-school season. From Monday, July 28, through Saturday, August 9, the Peebles Library invites kids and teens to participate in a special giveaway. All you have to do is check out a book to earn a ticket for the drawing. Drop your ticket into the entry box for a chance to win a backpack filled with school supplies. The more you read, the more chances you’ll have to win! This program is for children ages 3 to 18.
