1. Review of Minutes- Motion to approve March minutes by Tami Graham, seconded by Bill Jones.
2. Officer Reports/Special Guest:
Introductions were made as there were new members present.
3. Committee reports.
a) Harm Reduction – Chairperson Bev Mathias
– Drug Takeback Day – April 30, 2022 in the Tractor Supply (TSC) parking lot, West Union from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. There are pop up tents available and signs that will be put up for display. The information should currently be posted on the DEA website. Bev will distribute flyers and advertise in the newspaper around April 1st. Posted flyers around different locations, Heather agreed to post the flyer in the Manchester area. Requested volunteers to assist.
– Bev still has 1,200 Deterra bags. Explained the purpose of these bags to the Coalition.
– Bev and Tami are signed up for the Ohio Prevention Conference.
b) Trafficking – Chairperson Beth Bullock
– Human Trafficking Training was conducted at the Firehouse on April 5th. Only two people were present. Beth is requesting assistance in spreading the word and training dates.
– Another training will be set for May sometime.
-Still requesting volunteers to assist with this committee.
c) Prevention – Chairperson Danielle Poe
– Vaping – the first graduation for the classes in the schools was held in Manchester. A total of 14 kids graduated. Tami gave kudos to the staff that participated and helped.
– National Prevention Week is May 8-14. Vaping takeback day will be scheduled for May 8th.
– Need around $50K to aid in placing vaping detectors in the schools.
-Alicia Shaffer addressed members of her congregation are asking her about how they become involved in the vaping project in the schools. Instructed to give them Tami’s contact information.
-Media push getting ready to be sent for ages 10-18.
d) Treatment – Chairperson Roy Clifford
(a) QRT – Chairperson Brandon Perry
– Need volunteers for the QRT. Have to be comfortable going to homes of active drug users and be able to place a referral for needed treatment services. Would also like more peer support volunteers.
– Working on updating pamphlets that will be distributed throughout the community.
(b) Peer Support
– Staying very busy, connecting with a lot of people at the new shelter in particular.
– Discussed the 210 program the Common Pleas Court is using and the history of starting the program.
e) Advocacy – Chairperson Jennifer Grooms
– No updates this meeting
4. Old Business.
GRIT Project:
– If you are interested in what’s going on you can join the Thursday morning calls or get on the email distribution to get weekly up.
Drug Free Communities Grant:
– Attempting to get a meeting set up but has not been successful yet.
SPF-Rx Grant with Hospital Foundation:
– Did not get funded for more DETERRA bags.
Homeless Shelter – some effort with different grants to collaborate among organizations attempting to obtain the same one.
Reentry Program Opportunities from treatment or incarceration – Brandon started looking into this but has not completed. Biggest issue is housing.
Community Plan Proposal – still working , almost done except for a couple of categories.
Operation Better Together – introduction of what the program offers. There have been meetings to identify gaps in services that can be provided to the Community meeting such as childcare, family involvement, emergency housing.
– Different subcommittees being formed to narrow any gaps identified.
– Regular meeting is April 26 at 2 p.m. at the Health Department Conference room. The working group will be immediately prior at 12PM.
4. New Business.
Inspire 2022 Funding:
– Available grant, looking at a partner to work with this one. ABCAP doing the grant writing for it.

5. Announcements
· Drug Takeback Day – April 30 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Tractor Supply Parking Lot. Collaborative efforts with the Adams County Sherriff’s Department and the DEA.
· Prevention Data Meeting (PDC) at Health Department, Monday April 18th from 1PM to 2PM to discuss good and bad preventative methods.
