Former Peebles police officer accused of inappropriate contact with minor

Former Peebles police officer William Newland has been charged with allegedly providing obscene or harmful material to a minor or group of minors sometime last December.  Newland is no longer employed by the Peebles  Police Department.

Newland was not in custody at this time and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, Feb. 22,
