After her 2024 junior season, Manchester’s Rylie Young became the first Lady Greyhound in school history to be named the softball Southeast District Player of the Year. Turns out, once was not enough.
In 2024, the Southeast District Coaches Association named Young as Player of the Year in Division IV and with the new divisional alignments for the 2024-25 school year, the Lady Hounds found themselves in Division VII and Young found herself being again named First Team All-District and District Player of the Year after a spring campaign that saw her hit .627 to lead the Southern Hills Athletic Conference in average. In the center circle, Young went 17-4 with an earned run average of 1.46, striking out 225 hitters in 115 innings of work.
Young was joined by ta trio of other Lady Hounds who received All-District honors- sophomore Elliana Applegate, also named First team in Division VII, and sophomores Bristynn McClanahan and Addilyn Hunter, who both were named to the Division VII Second Team.
The North Adams Lady Devils also produced a pair of All-District performers with junior pitcher Carlee Garriosn being named to the First Teamin Division V after her outstanding spring. Joing Garrison was her battery mate, junior catcher Paige Evans, who was named to the Division V Second Team.
