George B. Srofe, 77 years of age, of Peebles, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center, in Seaman, Ohio. George was born on October 5, 1947, in Hillsboro, Ohio, the son of the late George B. and Lillian A. (Kippert) Srofe.
George worked as an information technology specialist for the Department of Defense, until his retirement.
George is survived by his sons, Byron A. Srofe,. of Colorado;. and Nathan K. Srofe of Dayton, Ohio; as well as his sister, Patricia A. (Clyde) Harris of Westfield, Indiana. He also leaves a special friend, Sally Cunningham of Peebles. George will be deeply missed by his four grandchildren, Kyle Engle, Kaycee Srofe, Baylee Srofe, and Jackson Srofe.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Angelina (Calo) Srofe, who passed away in August 2021.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 480 Portsmouth Rd, Peebles, Ohio. Rev. Dave Hopkins will officiate the service. George’s ashes will be buried at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Peebles.
After the burial, family and friends are invited to the fellowship hall of the Church of Christ in Christian Union to share their memories of George at a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in George’s name to the Hospice of Hope, Inc. 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Kentucky, 41056.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
