The Foundations of the Trades Pre-Apprentice Completion Ceremony, hosted at the Local 575, recently celebrated the success of Cohort 12 students who have completed this unique workforce program. The event highlighted the accomplishments of all 24 participants, while drawing special attention to the five students representing Adams County- Konnor Rogers, Jean Casimir, Connor Florence, Carson Reed and Drew Kennedy.
These young men not only represented their county with pride, but also demonstrated the skills, discipline, and commitment that will carry them forward in their careers. The Foundations of the Trades program equips participants with essential entry-level training, exposure to apprenticeship opportunities, and the chance to begin building lifelong careers in the skilled trades.
“We are so proud of the Adams County students who have reached this milestone,” said Lisa Scott with Future Plans-GRIT Project. “This program is truly life-changing, offering students a path toward independence, stability, and meaningful work.”
The ceremony celebrated not only the completion of training but also the promise of future opportunities. Many of the students are already being connected with local employers, apprenticeship programs, and career pathways that will strengthen both their futures and the regional workforce.
The Foundations of the Trades program continues to grow as a model of collaboration between schools, workforce partners, and industry leaders. By giving students, the tools to succeed, it invests directly in the future of Adams County and the surrounding region.
Congratulations to all 24 students, and especially to the five from Adams County, who remind us of the incredible potential that exists in our communities. We also celebrate the partnership between our local Training and Business Center, GRIT, OhioMeansJobs, the Electrical Training Academy, and Foundations of the Trades.
