Adventure awaits at your library this September, and you are invited to discover all that we have planned. Before you set out to explore new stories, crafts, and activities, please note that we will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 1. Once the holiday is past, you can uncover a full calendar of opportunities designed to engage, educate, and inspire your family. From Storytimes to crafts, STEAM activities, and even programs for adults, you will encounter something exciting each time you visit.

Starting September 1, you can join the Tales Through the Holidays Reading Challenge on Beanstack or in the library beginning Tuesday, September 2. This flexible program lets you set your own goal, whether it’s reading for 20 minutes a day, reading a certain number of pages each day, or enjoying one book at a time. Each time you reach a goal or complete an activity, you’ll fill in a circle on your log. As you uncover stories and explore new worlds, you’ll stay motivated and celebrate your progress.

Observe the magic of Storytime! Each Tuesday at 11 a.m., the North Adams Library welcomes families to gather for stories, songs, and play. On Wednesdays, the Peebles and Manchester Libraries both host Storytime at 11 a.m. On Thursdays at 11 a.m., you can unleash your little one’s imagination at the West Union Library, or, if evenings suit your schedule, Manchester Library also provides Storytime each Thursday at 5 p.m. Through play, crafts, and shared stories, your child will explore something new each week, while building skills for kindergarten.

For children ages 6 – 11, we have more to uncover. Each Thursday at 2:30 p.m., the Manchester Library invites kids to Crafternoon. Every week, a new project or activity awaits, whether it is a creative craft, a lively game, or a hands-on challenge. At the North Adams Library, After School STEAM will launch on Wednesday, September 3, at 3 p.m. This program is a builder’s dream! Kids will design and construct with Legos, while letting their imaginations soar. Meanwhile, the Peebles Library hosts Smorgasbord Makerspace every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Dive into DIY crafts, puzzles, and activities, and let your curiosity guide you. During September, you can even explore the textures of nature with leaf rubbing activities!

Teens can unleash their creativity at the Manchester Library during Teen Creative Junk Journaling on Thursday, September 4, at 2:30 p.m. This program provides the tools and inspiration to make something entirely your own, whether you want to create a keepsake, an organizer, or a personal journal.

Adults, too, will discover opportunities at the North Adams Library. On Saturday, September 6, at 2 p.m., join us for Dehydrating 101, where you can learn the basics of dehydrating food through books, articles, and shared knowledge. If you are looking for a relaxing family outing, visit the Peebles Library for Movie Afternoon on Thursday, September 4, at 3:30 p.m. Enjoy a family-friendly film with popcorn and drinks, and share the joy of a story brought to life on the screen.

From little learners to lifelong learners, your library is ready to help you explore, create, and connect. We cannot wait for you to uncover all that we have in store this September.
