The 2025 Adams County Fair is shaping up to be an unforgettable week of music, celebration, and community spirit, with a lineup that spotlights both national stars and the talented artists who call this region home.

Among the most anticipated performances is Holly Forbes, whose powerhouse voice and moving performances on The Voice earned her national acclaim and a rare four-chair turn for her unforgettable rendition of Elton John’s “Rocket Man.” On Saturday, July 12 at 8:30 p.m., Forbes will bring her soulful energy and heartfelt songs to the Center Ring stage for what promises to be a show-stopping finale to fair week. If you’re looking for a performance that will leave you inspired, this is it—don’t miss the chance to see her live.

But the fair isn’t just about big-name headliners; it’s also a showcase of the incredible homegrown talent that makes Adams County special. One of those highlights is The Chris Allen Crothers Band, taking the stage just before Holly Forbes on Saturday night at 7 p.m. The band’s namesake, Chris Allen Crothers, is a proud Peebles native whose roots run deep in the local music scene. Known for their high-energy shows and a sound that blends modern country with classic rock influences, The Chris Allen Crothers Band has built a loyal following across southern Ohio and beyond. Their performances are filled with original songs and familiar covers, all delivered with Crothers’ signature warm vocals and down-to-earth stage presence that make you feel right at home. Whether you’re a longtime fan or hearing them for the first time, their set is guaranteed to get you on your feet and ready to celebrate.

Earlier in the week, the fairgrounds will be alive with the sounds of even more local artists. On Monday, July 7, Kapsoura will kick things off with their unique mix of bluegrass grit and alternative edge—what they call “y’allternative fire”—followed by acoustic singer-songwriter Tyler Neeley, also from Peebles, whose blend of country, southern rock, and bluegrass has made him one of the area’s rising talents. Wednesday afternoon brings a different kind of show when the Fancy Free Cloggers take over Shade Tree Park at 7 p.m. This lively troupe will showcase traditional Appalachian clogging, complete with intricate footwork, energetic group numbers, and colorful costumes that celebrate a beloved regional dance tradition. It’s a performance sure to get your toes tapping and highlight the fair’s commitment to preserving local culture.

That same evening, Joey Vasselet will share an intimate acoustic performance starting at 6:30 p.m., inviting listeners to relax under the summer sky with heartfelt originals and fresh takes on classic songs. Later Wednesday night, the fairgrounds will come alive with the energy of Wanted, the ultimate Bon Jovi tribute band, ready to light up the Center Ring with hits like “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “You Give Love a Bad Name.”

For fans of gospel music, the Jason Cooper Memorial Gospel Night on Thursday, July 10, will bring The Hinson Family to the Center Ring for an inspiring evening of uplifting harmonies dedicated to the memory of a beloved local musician.

Other highlights include Cole Bradford, a soulful country artist from Georgia performing on Tuesday, and Dusty and The Backwoods Drive, whose Friday night set will blend country grit and Southern rock soul into a show that’s become a fair tradition. And if you’re feeling inspired to perform yourself, Sunday night’s free Karaoke event is the perfect way to kick off the festivities with your own star turn on stage.

From hometown heroes like The Chris Allen Crothers Band to the joyful rhythms of the Fancy Free Cloggers and the powerful voice of Holly Forbes, this year’s fair is a celebration of the music, dance, and community that make Adams County shine. Whether you come for the big shows, the local acts, or just to soak up the summer atmosphere, the 2025 Adams County Fair is sure to deliver memories that will last long after the final song fades.
