Retired First Sergeant William Richard Conn, age 75 years of West Union, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024. Mr. Conn was born March 30, 1949 in Blue Creek, Ohio to the late Richard S. Conn and Verlie L. (Hayslip). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Conn and sister Teresa Conn.
After serving 25 years with the US Army and serving in the Vietnam War, Mr. Conn retired as a First Sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Conn of West Union; daughters, Stacy Conn Humphrey of Peebles and Melinda Waudby of New Venia; step daughter Tisha Tolliver and James of Stockdale; son Anthony Conn of Wilmington; stepson Derek Tackett and Beth of Lucasville; sisters Linda Morris of Peebles and Donna Conn of West Union; special nephew Wes Conn of Amelia; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union, with Clarence Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the West Union Village Cemetery. Visitation will be held the day of the service from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
