Peebles Junior High School recently held the 2017 Spelling Bee competition in the school’s gymnasium. Eleven junior high students took part in the competition with Seth Mitchell emerging as the winner. Rosa Williamson took runner-up honors, Caden GIbbs came in third and Paige Walford came in fourth.
These four junior high students advance to the County Spelling Bee in February. Librarian Penny Tolle was the competition moderator and Beth Huntley was the Spelling Bee judge. The director of the Spelling Bee was Mr. Eric Hambrick.
