The Manchester Local School District Board of Education recently received the “Effective School Board Award” for 2018, from the Ohio School Boards Association for the 10th consecutive year.
The purpose of the award is to provide a tool for self-evaluation of a school board and to provide a planning tool that can be used throughout the year for ensuring that the work of the board gets done. This is not a competition but rather an instrument that defines specific steps and actions that can be taken by the board to meet district goals.  The community and the school team play a major role in achieving this award.
The OSBA Southwest Region Executive Committee developed this award to recognize school boards who are doing outstanding work in the region. The award was given at the OSBA Southwest Region Spring Conference in Lebanon on March 12, 2019.  Mr. Richard Foster, Board President, Mrs. Kathleen Stacy, Board Vice-President, Mr. Dave McFarland, Board Member & Mr. Brian Rau, Superintendent were present to receive the prestigious award.
