New Dairy Queen opens in West Union

By Austin Rust-

A new Dairy Queen has opened its doors for business on State Rte. 41 in West Union.
“We were kind of keeping an eye on trying to find a good location,” said David McCullum, Director of Operations, “(and) we had been watching West Union. It’s a nice small community, and we can’t wait to serve our ice cream here.”
But it isn’t just ice cream that will be served at this Dairy Queen Grill & Chill location.
“We also want people to know that we have a large menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken strips,” Mr. McCullum continued. “We have value meals – a $5 or $6 lunch, and our full standard menu on top of that.”
The location will feature both a drive-through and an outdoor patio.
So far the new restaurant has been a very popular spot, with a full parking lot nearly all day and a drive-thru backed up almost constantly to the edge of State Rte. 41.
The new West Union Dairy Queen is open from 10:30 a.m.- 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with the drive-thru open until 10:30 p.m. On Sunday, the restaurant is open from 4-10 p.m. With the drive-thru still open until 10:30 p.m.
