By now, I am hoping you are reading this and the Reds are already buying and have added numerous pieces to truly try and make a run at making the playoffs. It’s time to go all-in and there should be no excuses, as this team is currently six games over .500 (as of Monday).

The city is filling the stadium and is the team is openly asking ownership for more pieces. The time to buy is now and it certainly isn’t the time to sit back and be content with one good series against Tampa Bay. Get some bullpen help, get a power bat, tell Connor Joe “goodbye,” and let’s make a run at this thing. It’s time to stop prospect hugging and nobody should be considered off the table. Buying at the deadline requires overpaying. Expect it and embrace it. Let’s go try to make the playoffs. “There is no tomorrow,” right Apollo Creed?

Can’t Write About Football

I started to think about writing about football and Shemar Stewart, but baseball is at the forefront of my writing brain right now. Excitement is through the roof and anything short of going for it will really lose my trust in the future of this team. I’m trusting the front office to get players here and trusting Terry Francona to manage this team to a playoff berth. Baseball is the only thing on the brain right now. I’ve written this Reds team off over ten times, yet they keep battling.

Can Cincinnati beat the Dodgers? Can ownership gain fans’ trust again? Can Hunter Greene return to this team in time to make a true run? I’m ready for the roller coaster, one way or another.
