Marion “Ernie” Ernest Blankenship, 81 years, of Peebles, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center, in Seaman, Ohio.

Ernie was born in Clermont County, Ohio, on Sept. 3, 1937, the son of the late Ernest B. and Pearl Mae (Bates) Blankenship. Ernie worked for the General Motors Company for over 30 years.

In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Blankenship and James Blankenship; and by his sister, Lorraine Fitch. He is survived by his two sons, Brian Blankenship of Bloomington, Illinois and Amos Blankenship of Amelia. He also leave behind six daughters, Gwen Morris of Mt. Carmel, Kimberly Green of Covington, Ky., Marion Shefflet of Amelia, Aleha Boeriman of Mt. Carmel, Yvonne Blankenship of Amelia, and Cassandra  Hammerstorm of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Ernie’s passing will be mourned by his brother, Jerry Blankenship of New Richmond, as well as he 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will  held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles, Ohio. The ceremony will be officiated by Roland Luthy. Burial will follow at the Peach Mountain Cemetery in Peebles.

Family and friends  can pay their respects from 2-4 p.m., prior to the funeral service, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at the funeral home.
