Richard L. Murphy, 74 years of Winchester, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019.

Richard was born March 24, 1945 in Marion County, Indiana, the son of the late Leo and Alma (Hooker) Murphy. Beside his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two sons, Jerald and Kelly Murphy; one brother, Arthur Murphy; and one sister, Alice Murphy.

Richard was graduate of Clinton Massie High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Richard retired after 35 years of service from General Motors in Dayton. Richard attended the Winchester United Methodist Church, was a member of the Moraine City Eagles Aerie #3925, and a member of the West Carrollton VFW Post.

Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years Diana (Weng) Murphy; one daughter, Tammy (Mike) Ackerman of Dayton; one son, Doug (Jennifer) Miller of Midland, Ohio; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; three brothers, George (Mary) Murphy of South Lebanon, Ohio, Henry (Anita) Murphy of Clarksville, Ohio,  Randy (Pam) Murphy of Troy, Ohio; three sisters, Judy (Bill) Mitchell of Florida, Mary (Ben) Conger of Wilmington, Ohio, and Sandra Grisman of Cincinnati, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Winchester United Methodist Church, 70 Washington Street, Winchester, Ohio 45697.

Pastor Greg Roberts will officiate services with burial following in the Winchester Cemetery.  Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.  Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Winchester United Methodist Church.
