The Adams Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) has been recognized for its outstanding financial stewardship by receiving the prestigious Ohio Auditor of State Award for the fiscal year ending 2025. The award was presented to Executive Director Sherry Barr by Mr. Ryan Holiday, on behalf of Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber.
The Ohio Auditor of State Award is presented to government entities that demonstrate excellence in financial reporting by preparing accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), maintaining strong internal controls, and complying with all applicable state laws and regulations.
The award reflects AMHA’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible management of public funds while serving the residents of Adams County.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire staff and Board of Commissioners,” said Executive Director Barr. “We take great pride in ensuring that every dollar entrusted to our agency is managed responsibly so we can continue providing quality housing opportunities and services to the families we serve.”
Mr. Holiday commended the agency for its commitment to sound financial practices and noted that achieving the Auditor of State Award is an accomplishment earned by only a select number of public entities each year. The award signifies that the agency’s financial reporting meets the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and accountability.
