Cecil Shelton Jr., 81, of West Union, passed away on August 12, 2026 at the Adams County Manor. He was born August 3, 1945 in Manchester, Ohio to the late Cecil, Sr. and Elouise Shelton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Johnson and Linda Fox and a brother, John Shelton.
Cecil graduated from Manchester High School in 1963. He married his high school sweetheart Christina (Teagarden) Shelton on August 7, 1966, sharing 60 years of love and devotion.
Cecil joined the Army National Guard after graduation and worked for DP&L Stuart Station for 39 years. He enjoyed playing sports such as basketball, golf and bowling and was an avid hunter most of his life. He also enjoyed running and exercising in his free time.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife, Christina Shelton; two sons, Troy and Chad Shelton; brothers Charles and Donald Shelton; along with three grandchildren, Christina, Elizabeth and Victoria; four great grandchildren, Avery, Lucy, Magnolia and Penelope; as well as many friends, neighbors and extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at noon at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union, Ohio with John Greenlee officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
