On April 3, the Adams County Medical Foundation hosted their annual scholarship luncheon. The Foundation awarded eight $1,000 scholarships and one $5,000 scholarship to students pursuing careers in healthcare. The Esther Moore Chandler Scholarship, which is for $5,000, is set up to help a student throughout their college pathway rather than a one-time gift.
The recipient of the Rural Health Collaborative scholarship is Kiersten Spires. Kiersten is currently attending The Ohio State University to become a Doctor of Audiology.
Kelsey Young was chosen for one of the two Adams County Medical Foundation scholarships. She is currently attending the University of Cincinnati and plans to become a Speech Language Pathologist. Hunter Grooms was chosen for the second ACMF scholarship. She is attending Northern Kentucky University to obtain a degree in Physical Therapy.
The Ashley Scholarship was awarded to Braxlynn McClanahan. Braxlynn is currently a Pharmacy graduate student at Cedarville University.
The Stevens family doubled their donation this year and awarded scholarships to Chesnee Ayres and Ryan Mack. Chesnee is attending Morehead University studying Respiratory Care and Ryan Mack is a senior at Manchester High School. He plans to attend Shawnee State University and pursue a Physical Therapy degree.
The Mathias family also doubled their donation this year and awarded two scholarships. Liam Purcell is a senior at West Union High School and plans to attend Morehead University to study Radiologic Technology and Alisha Hargett is a senior at the Adams County Christian School. She plans to attend Shawnee State University and also plans to study Radiologic Technology.
The Esther Moore Chandler Scholarship was awarded to Molly Fuller. She is a student at Ohio University and plans to graduate with a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Molly will receive this scholarship annually until she completes her studies; this is her second year receiving it.

To date, the Adams County Medical Foundation has awarded over $81,000 in scholarships to local students thanks to its generous donors.
