Katherine Jean DeAtley, 58 years of age, of the Lawshe community, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at her residence.
Katherine was born on November 20, 1967 in West Union, Ohio, the daughter of the late Hartzel and Mae (Bivens) Bilyeu. Katherine took great pride in caring for her family and home.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Steven DeAtley, whom she married on May 16, 1997; her sons, Michael (Kat Kongmany) Hanson of Batavia and Joshua (Kayla) DeAtley, of Lawshe; along with her daughter, Kayla (Greg) Anderson of McDermott. Katherine also leaves her brothers, Billy (Melissa Clark) Newton and Lonnie (Michelle) Bilyeu, both of Manchester. Katherine will be missed by her grandchildren, Jayden, Zoey, Charlee, Joshua Jr., Everly, Ellee, and Emerson.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her brothers, Wendell Bilyeu and D.K. Bilyeu, and her sister, Hazel “Sissy” Newton.
Family and friends may pay their respects during visitation on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 12 – 1 p.m. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, beginning at 1 p.m., also at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles, Ohio. Dave Hopkins will officiate the funeral service. The burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery, in Peebles.
