R&R Tool, Inc. opened its doors to the public on Thursday, October 9 for a company-wide Open House at its two locations in Blanchester and Winchester, welcoming guests to explore operations, meet employees, and learn more about local manufacturing opportunities. The event ran from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., drawing community partners, educators, and visitors eager to see precision machining in action.

Lisa Scott and Amy Jo Queen from the GRIT Project attended the Winchester event, located just off State Route 247 near the airport, to tour the facility and engage with the R&R team. Upon arrival, they were greeted by Landen Fulton, a 2024 graduate of the Ohio Valley School District and the Career and Technical Center (CTC). Fulton, who began at R&R through a senior-year work placement, shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity, “Working here has been great—and it’s close to home. We do great things here. This has been a really good experience.”

Chuck Taylor, General Manager, provided an overview of R&R Tool’s operations, which specialize in contract machining and the manufacture of small, high-quality precision products—many serving the healthcare industry. The company holds the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification, reflecting its commitment to excellence and precision. Taylor emphasized the strong partnership between R&R and local schools, particularly the Ohio Valley CTC, “The students come to us very well-prepared. Half or more of our employees are former CTC students. It’s a great partnership—we help them, and they help us. We also serve on their Advisory Board to support the next generation of skilled workers.”

The guided tour was led by Elijah Gaffin, an 18-year-old Lathe Operator and another CTC graduate, along with Jamie Gilvin, both of whom provided insight into day-to-day production. Visitors also enjoyed a presentation by John Glenn, Engineering Technician, who detailed the technical aspects of R&R’s manufacturing processes and quality control systems. Throughout the visit, it was clear that R&R Tool, Inc. is not only a high-performing company but also a community-minded employer—investing in local talent and offering rewarding career paths close to home.

“It’s impressive to see firsthand the level of skill, teamwork, and opportunity happening right here in Adams County,” said Queen. “These partnerships between business, education, and community are exactly what strengthen our local workforce and create brighter futures for our students.”

R&R Tool, Inc. continues to demonstrate that success in manufacturing is built not only on precision and performance, but also on people.
