People’s Defender

Several township races, levy renewals, and liquor options that are part of the certified November 4, 2025, ballot in Adams County were inadvertently left out of our earlier report. These items were always part of the ballot, and we regret the omission.

School Boards

In Liberty Township Precinct 1702, voters will also decide seats for the Brown County Educational Service Center (James Castle, Greg Haitz, Marty Paeltz) and the Eastern Brown School District (Debbie Forsythe and Edmund McVey).

Township Races and Levies

Franklin Township (Locust Grove Precinct 02): Trustee candidates Jeff Evans, Russell Hanson, Thomas E. Perdue, and Joe Welage appear, along with a 0.7 mill renewal levy for cemetery maintenance raising $29,242 annually.

Green Township Precinct 0601: In addition to the fire levy, a 2 mill cemetery levy renewal will raise $15,745 annually.

Manchester Township Precinct 0701: Trustee candidates are Lonnie Bilyeu, Matthew Blythe, and Earl D. Ruark. A 1 mill replacement levy for township current expenses is estimated at $18,765 annually.

Manchester Village Precinct 0702: Council candidates include Diana L. Brown, Jack E. Collins Jr., Zollie Lee Gardner, Lewis A. Jackson, Troy Jolly, Cody Lewis, and Jane E. Wilson. Deborah K. Clinger is listed for the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs.

Seaman Village (Precinct 10, Scott Township): Council candidates are Lana G. Chandler, Christopher Rob Meade, David Merfert, and Michael L. Tolle. Trustee candidates are Sam Bolender, Homer F. Holsted, and Heath Smart. A 3.5 mill village levy renewal ($80,575 annually) and a 2.7 mill fire levy renewal for Scott Township ($120,642 annually) appear on the ballot.

Scott Township (Precincts 1101 and 1102): Trustees Homer F. Holsted, Heath Smart, and Sam Bolender appear, with the same 2.7 mill fire levy renewal.

Wayne Township (Precinct 12): Trustee candidates are Steven W. Leonard and Scott Persch. A 3 mill levy renewal for current expenses will raise $57,195 annually.

Brush Creek Township (Precinct 1501): The 1 mill cemetery levy renewal is certified to raise $11,275 annually.

Liquor Options

Meigs Township Precinct 04 (Peebles): Mason County E Corp dba Peebles Food Mart seeks approval for beer, wine, and mixed beverages sales, as well as Sunday D-6 sales at 25360 State Route 41.

Seaman Village: A Sunday sales option appears for Seaman Food Mart at 17286 State Route 247.
