Linda Lou Roush Scott, age 85, of West Union, Ohio, passed away on September 20, 2025.
She was born on April 28, 1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late Mearle Lewis Roush and Leon Hoadly Roush. Linda graduated from Seaman High School in Seaman, Ohio in 1958, and went on the earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Miami University in 1962, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
On June 22, 1962 Linda married Paul Emil Scott, soon after their graduation from Miami University. They share 63 years of marriage. A passionate educator, Linda devoted over 30 years to teaching American government and history at the Ohio Valley Vocational School in West Union. She took great pride in engaging young minds and instilling in her students a deep respect for American History.
Beyond her career, Linda cherished her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for her family and welcoming them around her table. Her joy was found in family gatherings, supporting her community, and the simple pleasures of everyday life.
Linda is survived by her husband, Paul E. Scott of West Union, Ohio; her son, Robert L. Scott of West Union, Ohio; her daughter, Suzy Kraemer and son-in-law Thomas Kraemer of Roanoke, Virginia; and her beloved grandsons, Patrick Scott Kraemer of Jackson, Wyoming and Christopher Paul Kraemer of Atlanta, Georgia.
Linda’s life was defined by her love of family, her dedication to teaching, and her gift for making others feel welcome at her table. Her legacy lives on in the countless students she inspired and the family she cherished.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union with Clarence Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at the West Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
