News Release
Valley View Health Centers (VVHC), operated by the Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC), is proud to announce it has been awarded a Three-Year Accreditation from CARF International—the global gold standard for quality health and human services.
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation is an internationally recognized benchmark that signals to the public that an organization is committed to excellence, accountability, and continuous performance improvement. To earn this designation, VVHC underwent an intensive on-site peer review process and demonstrated substantial conformance to CARF’s rigorous standards in leadership, safety, accessibility, service delivery, and outcomes.
The accreditation applies to VVHC’s Behavioral Health Services, including:
Case Management & Service Coordination (Mental Health – Adults)
Community Integration (Mental Health – Adults)
Outpatient Mental Health Treatment (Adults; Children & Adolescents)
“This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff and leadership to providing accessible, high-quality care for our communities,” said Michelle Diehl, Chief Operating Officer of CAC/VVHC. “CARF accreditation is not just a certificate—it validates that our services meet and exceed internationally recognized standards and that we put patients first in every decision we make.”
The CARF accreditation is more than a recognition; it’s a promise to the community. Providers that earn CARF accreditation must:
Engage in ongoing quality improvement and respond to client and community feedback.
Uphold stringent safety and ethical standards to protect patients.
Demonstrate measurable outcomes and effectiveness in service delivery.
Maintain accountability to stakeholders, funders, and the public.
According to the CARF survey report, VVHC was commended for its “compassionate commitment to serving clients and the broader community,” its strategically located clinics that meet the needs of rural populations, and the positive culture among staff who feel valued and supported. Clients consistently reported feeling understood, respected, and unconditionally accepted with flexible scheduling and a wide breadth of services cited as major strengths.
VVHC’s CARF accreditation builds on the organization’s growing momentum of national recognition for quality and performance, reflecting its mission to serve as a trusted, comprehensive health resource across South Central Ohio with locations in Pike, Jackson, Scioto, and Adams counties. From primary care and dental to behavioral health and addiction recovery, VVHC continues to expand services that meet the needs of the whole person. VVHC is committed to reducing barriers to care by offering walk-in availability, sliding scale fees, transportation assistance, and referrals to support services.
CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services, recognized worldwide as the benchmark of quality. Accreditation demonstrates an organization’s commitment to measurable accountability, continuous improvement, and enhancing the lives of the persons served.
“This accreditation is a tremendous honor,” added Diehl. “And, it is a testament to the trust our patients place in us and our responsibility to continue providing the highest level of care.”
