As the crisp days of fall settle in, you are invited to cozy up at the Adams County Public Library with a variety of programs designed for readers, crafters, and makers of all ages. September is a wonderful time to explore new books, try creative projects, and connect with fellow library enthusiasts. This season, the library offers you plenty of opportunities to enjoy both reading and hands-on activities.

You can join the Tales Through the Holidays Reading Challenge and set your own reading goals, while enjoying a flexible, self-paced program. Track your progress by completing daily or weekly activities and filling in your log as you reach each milestone. Whether you’re reading a set number of pages, enjoying a favorite book, or completing seasonal activities, this program lets you share the joy of stories with your family and create lasting memories together throughout the fall and into the holiday season.

If you love books, there are several book clubs for you to attend. The Peebles Library Book Club meets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 22, giving you a chance to gather with fellow readers and discuss your latest literary adventures. This month, we will discuss an enthralling work of historical fiction titled, Anatomy of a Miracle by Jonathan Miles. On Thursday, September 25, you can join the North Adams Library Novels and Nibbles Book Club at 5:30 p.m., enjoying thoughtful conversation over the mysterious comedy, Murder Your Employer by Rupert Holmes. That same evening, join us for Shelf Indulgence, at 5:30 p.m. at the West Union Library. At this meeting, you’ll discuss your favorite genres and get to know other readers as you help plan future sessions, making it a perfect opportunity to expand your reading circles.

For adults looking to explore practical skills or relax with creative projects, there are programs for you, too. You can attend Budget Homestead Hacks at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 26, at the North Adams Library to pick up tips and strategies for managing household projects on a budget. Later that afternoon, the Adult Coloring Club meets at 2:30 p.m. at the Manchester Library, where you can unwind, enjoy a peaceful artistic activity, and socialize with others. These programs let you embrace the cozy, reflective spirit of fall, while learning and connecting with your community.

If you’re a teen, you can get creative at Teen Resin Creations at the Peebles Library on Thursday, September 25, at 3 p.m. You’ll have the chance to experiment with resin art, craft unique pieces, and share your creations with friends, all while developing your skills in a hands-on, fun environment.
