Helping You Age Better

Fall is an active time of year at the Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7). With a variety of community festivals and events, our staff is busy supporting our communities through the many activities that take place during the Fall season.

On October 17, we wrapped up the 43rd Annual Art Show at Bristol Village in Pike County. This year, there were 69 art pieces and 11 written entries that were submitted. We also participated in the Highland County Senior Center Healthy Halloween Expo, Walk to End Alzheimer’s events in Chillicothe and Portsmouth, and several other fun, Fall festivities throughout our district. The AAA7 is dedicated to engaging in all ten counties we serve, offering resources and information about services available through our Agency and within the broader community. These interactions also allow us to assess local needs and explore opportunities for future partnerships

One key area where we are seeking community partners is our Board of Trustees. As a non-profit organization, we are governed by a Board of Trustees that represents the population we serve. We aim to have representatives from each of our ten counties on the Board of Trustees to ensure that the unique needs of every area are heard and addressed. Additionally, more than half of our Board members are individuals over the age of 55, offering valuable insight into the priorities and concerns of that age group.

Currently, we are recruiting Board members for the following counties: Adams, Brown, Highland, and Lawrence. We’re looking for potential Board members who are actively engaged in their local communities, have strong community connections, and are passionate about giving back through their voice and participation. If you are looking for a way to get involved and are interested in applying to be considered as a Board of Trustees member for the Area Agency on Aging District 7, please contact Jamie Herrmann, Executive Director, at jherrmann@aaa7.org.
