Betty Joyce (Boaz) Meadows, 86, passed away on July 31, 2025 at St. Leonard Health and Rehabilitation Center in Centerville, Ohio. Betty was born on February 15, 1939 to the late Sophia (Maze) Gray and Austin D. Boaz. In addition to her mother and father, Betty was preceded in death by her loving stepfather, Robert S. Gray; sister, Garnette (Boaz) Hughes; brother-in-law, Arthur Ray Hughes; and great-nephew, Noah Bayless.
Betty is survived by four children: Richard (Annalissa) of Saint Cloud, Florida. Kenneth (Nancy) of Coweta, Oklahoma, Stephen (Angela) of Arlington, Texas, and Brian (Kimberly) of West Union. She is also survived by many grandchildren; great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and a niece and nephews.
Betty was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years and dedicated her life to helping others. In addition to being a highly skilled R.N., Betty was a talented artist, seamstress, and had a love for cooking.
She was a member of the Peebles Community Bible Fellowship Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She devoted her life to her family and had an unwavering devotion to her faith and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Betty was a kind and gentle soul who was dearly loved by her family, friends and all who had the opportunity to get to know her.
The Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 11 a.m. – noon at the Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union.
The Graveside Funeral Service was on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Cherry Fork Cemetery in Wayne Township in Adams County, Ohio.
