The Page One-Room School will hold an open house on Sunday, September 22 from 2-4 p.m.
Activities will include apple bobbing, old-time games, nature crafts and other fall/early winter activities. Light refreshments will be served. The nature trail will also be available for a short walk.
Page School is owned by the Adams County Retired Teachers Association and gives visitors a look back into one-room schools that existed throughout Adams County, the state of Ohio and the United States in particular from the 1800’s through the early 1950’s. One-room schools still exist in some of the more remote areas of the United States and in the Amish/Mennonite cultures.
Page School is at the corner of Page School Road and Vaughn Ridge Road east of West Union.
Come share in these activities and perhaps meet with some of your neighbors who may have attended one-room schools or whose parents may have done so. All ages are welcome!
