Bluegrass fans, lace up your boots! It’s time for the annual SkinnyFest Bluegrass Festival, coming to the Adams County Fairgrounds, beginning tomorrow night (September 19) and running through Saturday, September 21.
The very popular bluegrass musical event is non-profit, using donations, t-shirt sales and food concessions to pay all the bills. Admission costs are $15 (Thursday), $35 (Friday and Saturday) or $70 for the entire three-day pass weekend of music. Under 17 are free with a paying adult. Camping for the weekend is available, one night with no A/C for $35 and a spot with 30AMP for $100.
The music lineup is impressive, some of the best in the bluegrass genre, beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday night with Dave Adkins, Keith Prater and Poplar Ridge. Friday’s entertainment begins at 1:30 p.m. with The Locals, followed by Seven Mile Bluegrass, Keith Prater and Lacy Creek, Charlie Woods and Deep Hollow, Tony Hale and Blackwater, Billy Droze and Gary Nichols, with The Grascals closing out the evening.
One last full day of music begins Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with Union Town. Also on the slate for Saturday will be Open Highway, Ralph Stanley II and The Clinch Mountain Boys, Breaking Grass, Hammertowne and Crabgrass.
