Melvin B. Curtis, age 84 years old of Unity, Ohio, passed away September 18, 2024 at home. Melvin was born September 29, 1939 in Unity, Ohio to the late Eddie and Marjorie Curtis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his ex-wife Mary DeMint Curtis, an infant son Robert and a sister, Norma Jean Hill.
Survivors include a brother, Andy Curtis and sisters Mercey and Lorena and two sons, Gary Lee of Portsmouth, Ohio and Larry Wayne of Dayton, Ohio. He also had two daughters, Ginger of Dayton, Ohio and Melva of Tennessee. He also had 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Melvin, a proud Mason, graduated from Seaman High School and went to work for Ford Motor Company in Sharonville, Ohio and retired after 30 years to Adams County where he spent the majority of his time hunting, fishing and working on the farm.
Masonic services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 1 p.m., with funeral services to follow, at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union, with Danny Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirker Cemetery.
Visitation will be held the day of the service from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union is serving the family.
