Calling all Bibliophiles! Get ready to fall in love with a good read. Check out our fall Book Sale from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., on Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5 at the North Adams Library. We have a great selection of books for you to delve into. Whether you are into mysterious thrillers or sassy rom-coms, we have the perfect book for you. Stock up on books this autumn at your local library and prepare for crisp winter days reading by the fire.

In addition, join us at one of our Book Clubs to expand your literary horizons, meet new people, and engage in stimulating discussions about books and literature. We have Book Clubs at the Peebles, North Adams and West Union Libraries.

Details for the Peebles and North Adams Book Clubs for September are as follows: We will read and discuss “Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zevin and meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 23 at the Peebles Library. Alternatively, we will read and discuss “Every Fifteen Minutes” by Lisa Scottoline and meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 26 at the North Adams Library. Grab a copy of the books in the library or download a copy of the e-books from Libby or Hoopla Digital.

What have you read lately? Join us at Book Talk, a flexible Book Club for every reader type. In this program, you can choose any book and tell us about it at the next meeting/ We will meet at 2:30 p.m., on Friday, September 27, at the Manchester Library.

Are you looking for an enriching and engaging program for your preschoolers while your children are in school? Prepare your little ones for kindergarten by bringing them to Storytime! Each week, we have interactive and educational programs for children aged 0 – 5 at each library. Families will explore a new letter and unearth fun themes, including Drums, Cats, Dogs, and Deserts.

Drums Storytime will be at 11 a.., on Tuesday, September 24 at the North Adams Library. We will sing “This Old Man,” create a drum using recycled materials, and listen to “Drums” by Kate Riggs. Cats Storytime will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25 and 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, at the Manchester Library. We will sing “K-I-T-T-Y,” create a handprint cat, and listen to “Little Lola” by Julie Saab.

Dog Storytime will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25 at the Peebles Library. We will sing “Five Little Dogs,” create a dog paper plate craft, and listen to “Bark, George” by Jules Feiffer. Furthermore, Desert Storytime will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 26 at the West Union Library. We will sing classic children’s songs, create a desert mosaic craft, and listen to “A Walk in the Desert” by Rebecca Johnson. To continue the educational experience at home, Storytime participants will receive Enrichment Kits, which include book recommendations and activities centered around phonics, counting, motor skills, life skills, and art.
