Joan A. Carman (nee Meyer), 90, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024. Joan was born May 21, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio, first child of the late John and Ora (nee Plummer) Meyer.

She is survived by her six children; Douglas (Barbara) of Mason, Ohio, Brad (Barb) of Moores Hill, Indiana, Jeff of Union Hill, Ohio, Blair (Nancy) of Blue Ash, Ohio, Mindy Cleary (Jack) of Overland Park, Kansas and Brett (Carol) of Seaman, Ohio. Joan is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and was the dear sister of the late John Meyers and the late Delores (nee Meyer) Callahan.

Joan graduated from Madeira High School in 1952 and there she met and married Richard Carman. They raised their family in Indian Hill, Ohio. Joan also owned and operated a florist shop in Madeira, The Lemon Leaf.

In 1994, Joan happily retired to Blue Creek, Ohio, tending her beautiful gardens and caring for her many beloved animals on Sunshine Ridge. Joan lived life by her terms and those who knew and loved her would say “It’s Joan’s way or the highway!”

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Good Shepherd Church in Montgomery, Ohio, 11 a.m. until funeral mass at noon. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery, Ohio.
