It was an absolutely perfect afternoon on September 4, bright sunshine and nearly cloudless skies, as the four Adams County girls golf squads met at the Adams County Country Club for the 2024 Girls County Cup Tournament. Unlike the boys who played their 18-hole tourney in the season’s first week, the girls only played nine holes in their competition, but it was a great nine holes for Coach Marci Nehus and the West Union Lady Dragons.
The Lady Dragons picked the perfect time to put together their best team round of the season and it resulted in them recapturing the County Cup trophy. West Union also produced the day’s individual winners, a tie at the top between senior Olivia Lewis and sophomore Annabelle McIntosh.
