Though Mother Nature decided to make it quite tricky for most of the night, the Manchester Greyhounds survived the elements and the visiting Green Bobcats to pick up their second win in three outings in 2024, hanging on late to get past the Bobcats 28-21. Heavy rain and heavy winds dominated the atmosphere but both teams battled those conditions and gave the brave fans on hand an exciting contest on the soaked field.

“I thought we played really well tonight, a great team win,” said Manchester head coach Nick Neria. “We knew how to lose before and now I think we have figured out how to win. We made some big stops tonight that I haven’t seen a Manchester make before and that was awesome.”

The game began with the Hounds taking the opening kickoff at their own 45, getting a 30-yard run from Brendan Barnes on their first snap and eventually a two-yard touchdown run from quarterback Leland Horner. The two-point try failed and the home team led 6-0.
