“Tonight was bigger than volleyball. I’m glad we could do something to give back to the others in this community.”

Those were the thoughts of West Union volleyball head coach Kiersten Rowe after her team’s match up against the Peebles Lady Indians on Friday, September 6. Rowe was not referring to the match itself, which her Lady Dragons won, but to the more important activities of the night that raised money for the family of Avery Mashburn, a kindergarten student at West Union Elementary who is in the midst of a battle against a serious heart and lung condition.
