News Release
In honor of Healthcare Simulation Week, Southern State will host an open house on Wednesday, September 18 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive in Hillsboro. Open to the community, this event promises to be an exciting celebration of innovation and excellence in medical training and education.
Healthcare Simulation Week will be celebrated nationally from September 16-20 this year and aims to recognize the critical role that simulation plays in preparing healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care. Through hands-on learning, realistic scenarios, and cutting-edge technology, simulation training improves skills, enhances decision-making, and ultimately leads to better patient outcomes.
This year’s theme, “Launchpad to Legacy: What’s Your Next?” is about sharing goals and promoting collaboration with others to propel the field forward.
During the open house, visitors can experience live demonstrations where attendees can witness state-of-the-art simulation technology in action. Networking opportunities will also be available. Those who attend can connect with professionals in the field and explore partnerships that are advancing simulation practices across various healthcare settings.
Southern State’s Simulation Lab Coordinator Bruce Fugate commented, “Healthcare Simulation Week is a time to celebrate the advancements and successes in simulation-based education. It’s an opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come and to look forward to innovations that will shape the future of healthcare.”
