John Donald Storer, 96 years of age, of Peebles, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at the Adams County Regional Medical Center in Seaman, Ohio.
Donald was born on May 12, 1928 in Peebles, Ohio, the son of the late John A. and Grace (Yankee) Storer. Donald was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He took great pride in working on the family farm and worked as a school bus driver until his retirement. He was a member of the Peebles Adult Farmers.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn (Pertuset) Storer, whom he married on December 5, 1951, and who passed in April 2024; as well as his siblings, Lowell Storer, Mildred VanZant and Mary Grace Murphy; and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Storer.
Donald is survived by his children, Mike and Jackie Storer of Peebles, Roger Storer of Peebles and Donna and Tom Stevens of Winchester; and by his brother, Ronnie Storer of Greenfield. Donald will be dearly missed by his four grandchildren, J.M. Storer, Zack Storer, Bradley Stevens and Scott Stevens, along with his eight great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may pay their respects during visitation on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held the following morning, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, beginning at 11 a.m., also at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. Richard Lloyd will officiate the service. A military graveside service by the Adams County Honor Guard will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
