Joe David Martin, 85, of Peebles, Ohio, died Thursday, August 22, 2024 at home. He was born November 29, 1938 in Martin, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Beulah (Hayes) Martin; brothers, Crit, Creed and Tandy; sisters, Sadie, Grace, Eunice, Dorothy and Bonnie; and grandson, Jordan.
Joe is survived by his wife, Juanita C. (Copas) Martin of Peebles; two sons, Kevin Hoffer (Johnna) of Wilmington and Marty Martin (Tina) of Asheville; two daughters, Deirdre Wells (Mica) of Winchester and Pamela Jackson (Derek) of Loveland; one brother, Wendell Martin (Brenda) of Printer, Kentucky; and one sister, Nora Pearl Martin of Printer, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a Sunday School teacher and member of the Peebles Baptist Church. He was a former automotive salesman and a lifetime NRA member.
The visitation is Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 12 – 2 p.m. at the Peebles Baptist Church in Peebles.
The funeral is Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Peebles Baptist Church. Pastor Tony Kelley will officiate.
The interment is at the Evergreen Cemetery in Meigs Township in Adams County.The Adams County Honor Guard will perform a military service.
