Did you know your local Adams County Public Library offers technology help? If you have questions about a smartphone, tablet, or laptop or need help with a computer task, call Jacob to schedule an appointment. You can find Jacob at each library weekly. Check out the schedule below:
• Monday at Manchester Public Library: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Tuesday at North Adams Public Library: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Wednesday at West Union Public Library: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Thursday at Peebles Public Library: 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Appointment times are on a first-come, first-served basis, and Jacob cannot repair broken equipment or provide financial, medical, or legal advice.
Do you have a fascination with the paranormal? Or maybe you’re a treasure hunter at heart? Look no further than our Beyond Books collection! Our latest additions include a ghost hunter kit and metal detector available for you to check out.
The ghost hunter kit includes all the tools you need to conduct a supernatural investigation, including an EMF (electromagnetic frequency) reader, EVP (electronic voice phenomena) recorder, and flashlight. With this kit, you’ll be all set to explore the unexplained and seek out any otherworldly activity that may be lurking in the shadows.
If you’re more of an adventurer, our metal detector is just the tool you need to explore the great outdoors. Whether you’re searching for hidden treasures or simply exploring your local park, this metal detector is sure to add an extra element of excitement to your outdoor expeditions. Come to the Peebles Library to check out one of these exciting kits today – who knows what mysteries you may uncover.
Furthermore, with children returning to school, you might wonder what enriching events are available for yo toddler, preschooler. Check out Storytime and watch your children’s love for learning grow. Our programs include interactive activities that promote learning and discussion, to give children a solid educational base and equip them with necessary pre-reading / reading skills! Enrichment Kits will be handed out to Storytime participants to continue learning at home, including book recommendations and activities centered around phonics, counting, motor skills, life skills, .and art. The upcoming Storytime themes include Camping, Animals, and Telling Time.
Let’s Go Camping Storytime will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27 at the North Adams Library. We will sing camping songs, create a tent camping scene using construction paper, engage in imaginative play by putting together a tent and pretend campsite, and listen to Camping by Adeline Snyder. Animals Storytime will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 29 at the West Union Library. We will sing Jump, Jump Like a Kangaroo, explore animals through sensory play, and listen to Are You a Horse? by Andy Rash.
We will have two Telling Time Storytimes coming up. At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28 at the Peebles Library, we will sing Hickory Dickory Dock, create a paper plate clock, and listen to Telling Time by A.A. Milne. In addition, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28 and at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, at the Manchester Library, we will sing The Clock Song, create clock hats, and listen to Winnie the Pooh Telling Time by Hallie Marshall.
