Doris Hendrickson (“Dori”), beloved wife, mother, yia yia, dear friend and esteemed professional, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She faced this journey with such strength, positivity and grace.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Ward Stout; loving children, Jill Roberts (Donnie) of Columbus, Ohio, Jessica Bell (Kory) of Beech Grove, IIndiana, Justin Stout of Lake Tahoe, Nevada and Jenny Stout of Zionsville, Indiana; and grandchildren, Isabella (21), Logan (17), Evie (15), Wyatt (13), Norah (13), Wilson (13) and Walter (10). She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Ping of Cincinnati, Ohio and Rita Joanne Kinney of Tampa, Florida; and half-brother, John Ping of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Dori was born on November 2, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Goldie and John Ping and raised by grandmother Julia Layman of Winchester, Ohio. She graduated in 1971 from North Adams High School in Seaman, Ohio, where she enrolled in business training classes and was a member of the school’s first women’s basketball team. After many years of night school while working full-time, she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Xavier University. Dori subsequently dedicated many years of her life to building a successful career, achieving the esteemed position of Chief Financial Officer after years of diligent work as a Certified Public Accountant in the healthcare industry. Her expertise and leadership were renowned in the industry, leaving a lasting legacy among colleagues and peers.

In her retirement years, Dori embraced spending time with her family and friends. She found immense happiness in spending time with her friends, enjoying her passions for golfing, quilting and interior design. Her creativity and skill were evident in the quilts she crafted and the homes she decorated.

She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and will be remembered as the life of the party. Her absence will be felt immensely by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
