We enjoyed celebrating Zack Roberts’ birthday last week by going to the Cincinnati Museum Center where we saw the Omnimax presentation of D-Day. It was very humbling as we remembered our Dad who served on the USS Texas during that time. We were overwhelmed in the Holocaust Museum, and it is difficult to imagine one human being having that much destructive control over a targeted religious group.
Happy Father’s Day next Sunday to all you papas and grandfathers!
Please keep Susan Spurlock in your prayers. She is doing a little better and plans on coming back to Monarch Meadows for rehabilitation.

Winchester’s Past (Patsy Roberts): Florence Bryson recently gave me an old apron to put with the historic items from Winchester. It belonged to Frances Adams, also known as Aunt Frank. Frances L. Adams was born in 1849 in Winchester to William Adams (1812-1886) and Jane Rudisill (1821-1881). William was a tailor in Winchester in the 1840’s and 1850’s. In the 1860’s, he owned a general store. She had five sisters: Mary Isabelle (1839-1872), who married George Doyle (1829-1899); Anna (1841-1907) who married James Henry Bradford (1837-1908); Elizabeth (1844) and Sarah Jane (1847-1955). Mary Isabelle, known as Belle, married George Doyle, also born in Winchester in 1868. He was a dry goods merchant. All the above are buried in the old part of Winchester Cemetery. (to be continued)
Information is due by Sunday evening and can be sent by calling (937) 205-2309 (leave a message) or by email at japorter45697@gmail.com.
