Burl Holbrook, 82 years of age, of Seaman, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Unitj in Seaman, Ohio
Burl was born on August 24, 1940, in Bays, Kentucky, the son of the late Dailey and Florence (Miller) Holbrook. After serving in the United States Air Force and attending college, Burl taught Agricultural Mechanics at the Ohio Valley Vocational School in West Union, Ohio while he carried out his true passion, farming. Burl will be remembered for his love of farming, his ability to tell a good joke, and his generous spirit. He belonged to the Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
Burl was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Janice (Pederson) Holbrook, whom he married on June 21, 1961. Burl is also survived by his three sons, Brian (Rhonda) Holbrook of West Union, Bruce (Susan) Holbrook of Seaman and Doug (Angela) Holbrook of Winchester. He will be missed by his seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private burial at a later date and requests that memorial donations be sent to the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home.
