RED ALERT! Wear red this Friday, February 3. Crimson, scarlet, ruby, cherry, rose – you get the picture. Let’s paint the town red, recognizing American Heart Month and Women’s Heart Health. We’d love you to share your photos on social media, tagging The People’s Defender and using #OurHearts.
Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans, and awareness is crucial. Red is a standout color, and millions of folks across the country will dress in red this Friday in support of eradicating heart disease and strokes.
Nationaltoday.com writes, “National Wear Red Day is supported by the American Heart Association and celebrated in conjunction with national heart health month. It focuses specifically on raising awareness of women’s heart disease and stroke risks. Cardiovascular disease causes 1 in 3 deaths in women every year, making it the number one health-related killer in women. The good news is 87% of all heart issues are believed to be preventable making awareness, education, research, and resources vital to the cause this holiday supports.”
So, get your red on Adams County and show our solidarity against heart disease. This Friday – Let’s see RED!
