News Release
The Edge of Appalachia Preserve System’s Explorers Club will be returning this summer. It is free and open to children who have completed 4th-12th grades and live in Adams County. This program runs from May 25 to July 27, and meets on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. – noon at the Eulett Center on Waggoner Riffle Road.
Club members will learn about the flora and fauna of Adams County by hiking, studying stream life, birds, reptiles and amphibians, insects, trees and much more. This program, while not overly strenuous, is not recommended for those needing excessive medical attention or who must restrict their physical activity.
To register your child, contact Mike Nicolai at (937) 544-2880, ext. 15
Each week there will be a different theme. There will be a mix of active and passive activities that will help the kids learn about nature and science in the woods, fields, and streams adjacent to the Eulett Center. Most of these activities will be outside, but there will be indoor activities in case of inclement weather.
