John O. Shelton, 72, of Seaman, passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2020 at the Adams County Manor in West Union. He was born March 2, 1948 in Manchester, son of the late Cecil and Elouise “Pud” McClelland Shelton. He was the widower of the late Freida Edgington Shelton. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Johnson and Linda Fox; brother, Harry Lee Shelton; sister-in-law, Betty Rae Shelton; and a brother-in-law, Joe Johnson.

John honorably served his country for four years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the APA, American Pool Association and a member of the American Legion Post#633 in Seaman.

He is survived by his children, John O. (Lisa Castle) Shelton, Chuck (Charlene) Shelton and Margaret (Fred) Edwards; 11 grandchildren, Darin (Laranda) Shelton, Nate (Amanda) Shelton, Caysen, Levi and Gareth Shelton, Dylan and Mikayla Akers, Mariah Shelton, Ramona, Johnie and Kloey Edwards; five great-grandchildren, Trey, Liam, Carter, Malia and McKinley Shelton; siblings, Cecil (Christine) Shelton, Donnie (Donna) Shelton, and Charles “Bub” Shelton.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020 at the Wilson Funeral Home in Manchester. Pastor Dale Little will officiate and military honors will be conducted. Cremation will follow the services.
